One of the inventors of the Company’s breakthrough technology, Riggs Eckelberry brings his veteran technology management skills to the alternative energy sector. As President and COO of CyberDefender Corporation from 2005 to 2006, he was instrumental in building the company and its innovative product line, helping to achieve initial funding and a public company filing. From 2001 to mid-2005, he helped launch and turn around technology companies as founder and President of TechTransform, a technology consulting firm. In 2004, he was a key member of the team that commercialized YellowPages.com, resulting in its sale for $100 million to SBC/BellSouth. In 2003, he helped make Panda Software a key player in the US market as the General Manager of its US unit. During the high-tech boom of the 1990s, he was responsible for the global brand success of the software product, CleanSweep; as Chief Operating Officer of MicroHouse Technologies, he drove record sales and a modernization of the company’s technology, helping to achieve a successful sale of the company to Earthweb; and as VP Marketing of venture-backed TriVida, he was a key member of the team that commercialized the company’s technology and achieved the sale of this technology company to BeFree, Inc. (now part of ValueClick: VCLK).
Riggs Eckelberry sits on the Advisory Board of the National Algae Association; and Biofuels Digest ranked him one of the Top 100 People in the Bioeconomy for 2013-2014. The Los Angeles Business Journal has named him to the 2014 Who’s Who of Top Executives in L.A.
Jean-Louis (“JL”) Kindler is a veteran of 25 years as both a top executive and engineer in environmental technologies. He joins OriginOil after three years as co-founder in 2010 of Ennesys, the company’s French joint venture, where he designed its acclaimed patent-pending waste-to-energy system.
Earlier, as CEO of MHS Equipment, a French nanotechnologies equipment manufacturing firm, he led the development of a revolutionary fuel cell process. Earlier, his twenty-year career in Japan gave him unique insight into fast-growing Asian markets. There, as principal of incubator Pacific Junction Corporation, Jean-Louis completed various assignments such as technology sourcing for the French industrial group Alstom, implementing a hydrogen production system using waste biomass as feedstock, and developing the market for a fluids mixing technology that helped inspire early OriginOil inventions.
Jean-Louis holds a Masters in Economics and Public Policies from the Institute of Political Sciences in Lyon, France, and an MBA in International Management in Paris.
As President of OriginOil’s Petro division, Mr. Charneski reports to the CEO Riggs Eckelberry and is responsible for commercializing the company’s Electro Water Separation™ technology in the oil & gas industry, spanning product development, sales and licensing, manufacturing control and integration with other industry systems.
Prior to joining the company, Bill Charneski served as CEO of two startup firms, with a demonstrated track record of creating sustained sales growth through the introduction of new products and process innovation within the companies he managed.
Earlier in his career as a chemical process engineer, plant supervisor and regional sales manager for Dow Chemical, Bill gained extensive experience with process development and industrial equipment design and manufacturing, as well as a range of cross-functional knowledge and skills regarding marketing, sales, finance, operations, project management, team building, and quality control systems in an industrial environment.
Bill holds an MBA degree from Central Michigan University, as well as a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Recently, Biofuels Digest ranked him one of the Top 300 People in the Bioeconomy for 2013-2014.
Lee Portillo has over a decade experience working in the water technology sector. Over that time his work has focused on the Research & Development, Application Engineering and Engineering Sales of new water treatment technologies for a range of applications including produced water treatment, seawater desalination, waste water reclamation, surface water treatment and ground water remediation.
Prior to joining OriginOil Mr. Portillo worked in the Applied Research Department for Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH) conducting independent third party testing of new membrane technologies. Following his time there, Lee was a founding employee with NanoH2O where he participated in the successful development and commercial launch of three nano-particle composite thin film membranes for use in seawater desalination. Most recently Mr. Portillo worked as the Product Development & Engineering Manager for Water Planet Engineer commercializing new technologies for use in the treatment of produced water for the Oil & Gas sector.
Through that experience Mr. Portillo has focused his career on the cost of treated water and the economic applications of new technologies, in order to define and generate a value proposition through their implementation. Lee has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas Christian University.
With over 15 years of accounting and finance experience in the technology and legal sectors, Eric Sandler has a proven track record of effective corporate financial management and internal controls. In 2000, Eric joined Neptune Networks, Inc. when it was a startup and as Financial Controller contributed significantly in the growth and expansion phase of the Company into a market leader in the industry. He negotiated and maintained numerous contracts adding significant amounts to annual revenue, implemented many internal controls and efficient cost reduction strategies and was instrumental in positioning the Company for eventual buyout.
Eric holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from California State University, Northridge.
