Delta, Colorado, 27 May 2014: OriginOil demonstrated its scaled-up frack water cleanup technology, CLEAN-FRAC 1000, for the first time ever.

Held at the headquarters of OriginOil licensee, Industrial Systems Inc. (ISI) on Colorado’s Western Slope, the showcase featured the CLEAN-FRAC™ 1000 system, which is designed to process frac flowback and produced water at a rate of up to 1000 barrels per day (bpd), to the exact purity levels that customers require.

Selected public officials spoke at the event, from Jim Pokrandt representing the Colorado River District, to Delta County Commissioner Doug Atchley and Mayor of Delta, Ed Sisson.

“We were excited to host a very effective demonstration of OriginOil’s flowback cleanup technology, CLEAN-FRAC,” said Bob Isom, CEO of Industrial Systems, Inc. “As the second licensee of OriginOil’s impressive water technology, we have a number of sales opportunities in the pipeline that we believe will accelerate with this tangible proof that OriginOil’s technology really delivers.”

OriginOil Product Manager shows how OriginOil's first stage of electro-coagulation takes feed water and separates it.

By integrating OriginOil’s EWS with commercially available polishing processes, CLEAN-FRAC can deliver a wide range of purities from re-fracking to drinking water, as the application requires. At this showcase, a TriSep membrane filtration system supplemented the EWS stage, resulting in visibly clear water samples.

“We were extremely impressed with how OriginOil’s unit performed upstream of our iSep UF,” said Mike Snodgrass, who headed the onsite support team from TriSep. “The two worked flawlessly together, removing all oil and suspended solids without experiencing any declines in performance delivered water that our membrane could polish without clogging.”

OriginOil plans to hold additional showcases throughout the summer to demonstrate the CLEAN-FRAC 1000 to public officials, media and customers, with plans for a grand finale in Houston, Texas.
