Company to Create Biofuel from Algae

Waste & Recycling News – February 2, 2009: "Algae can reproduce quickly and abundantly, so it may seem unnecessary to develop a process that accelerates its growth. But if the cells are to be used as an oil-replacing fuel, plain old pond scum won´t work. Los Angeles company, OriginOil, is working to develop a large-scale reactor that can churn out big batches of algae capable of producing oil or eating up carbon dioxide emissions."
